Chilli Lime Prawn and Avocado Salad

This is one of my favourite meals I regularly cook up because it just tastes so fresh and is so simple to make! Sometimes I find the similest recipes with few ingredients, have far more flavour.

For you to create your own delishious Chili Lime Prawn and Avocado Salad for 1, you will need to gather:

A good handful of watercress (or salad leaves)

1 portion of peeled prawns

Half a lime

An avocado

1 clove of garlic minced

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon of light soysource

1 teaspoon of chilli powder

(Optional) Small portion of peas, fresh or frozen

Simply, fry the prawns in the olive oil, soy source, chilli powder and garlic.

Whilst they cook away nicely, put your watercress into a bowl and roughly cut the avocado into small chunks before adding. Next you can add peas if you'd like and then the prawns once fully cooked.

Complete the dish with the zingy squeeze of lime all over and some black pepper.  Mmmm!

I did say it was simple!

THE 80s DIARIES : The Dress Episode

OK, so after being hooked and watching both season 1 and 2 of The Carrie Diaries in a week, my obsession began!
As a teenage girl, the interest in Bradshaw and Sex and the City has been passed on from my mum. However this new life of Bradshaw is fresh, fun and more relatable than ever I guess to the late generation of SATC fans.

If your unfamiliar of the amazing CW TV show, The Carrie Diaries is based on the hit book by Candace Bushnell which prequels Sex and the City following young Carrie Bradshaw as she goes thorough boyfriend, friends and family drama in her final year of high school whilst balancing her part time job at a fashion magazine in the Big Apple.

Not only do I have a fellow obsession with Carrie for the boy - Sebastian Kydd (Austin Butler) but for the daring 80s wardrobe of electrifying colours, statement prints, and bold accessories.

Whilst we wait in anticipation for the confirmation of season 3 (there must be!), take a look at the trends I want to steel from Miss Bradshaw's wardrobe, If I could get my hands on any of these fabulous finds...

The obsession continues in posts to follow ...

16 Celebrations

My friend Amy turned 16 last week and so to celebrate in the sweetest way, a party was called upon!

As it was a birthday celebration, there had to be balloons of course...however Amy couldn't have any old standard balloons, instead she decorated the house with marble light up ones! I'd never seen these before and I thought they were pretty cool...

It was nice to meet new people and catch up with old acquaintances, whilst showing of our sweeeet dance moves and eating too many sausage rolls!

As you can see, a lot of selfies were taken!

A salad spin on the BLT

So here is my friend Charlie and I's own spin on the BLT Bowl - together agreed it to be THE best salad we've ever tasted!

Described by Rosie (aka. The Londoner) as a BLT, minus the bread and with a whole bunch of other goodies thrown in, it is truly fabulous!

The ingredients we used for a meal for two were:

Half an iceberg lettuce & half a bag of rocket*

Handful of coriander

About 14 tommy tomatoes

Half a cucumber

An avocado (mmm my favourite!)

Handful of light Greek salad cheese

4 slices of bacon

*(you can use whatever salad leaves you like, pick your favourite! We just used up what we found in the fridge)

Whilst Charlie kept an eye on the sizzling bacon, I chopped all the ingredients in small pieces and threw them into a large bowl. Once the bacon was nice and crispy, we cut the fat off to throw away and chopped the remaining bacon into small strips before adding to the salad bowl. We then topped it with square pieces of Greek cheese and croutons. Seasoned with salt and pepper.

For the dressing, I mixed 2 tbl spoons of olive oil with 1 tbl spoon of balsamic vinegar. Adding 1 tsp of mustard and the juice of a small lemon, stir it all together.

Pour over salad, shake it all together and voila! Bon apatite!

A glass of pink lemonade went perfectly well!

The recipe is so simple and easy to do. It's healthy and filling but most of all, tastes amazing and so fresh.
After a session of swimming, we thoroughly enjoyed the BLT Bowl!

Sporting Selfies

Our PE lesson today consisted of lots of running, selfies, and lots of running!

In pairs we were given a close up picture of something in the school outside grounds and a list of numbers. Each number corresponded with a different photo which we had to work out and find. The clock was ticking to find the object in the photo, take a photograph with it before running back to collect another numbered photo.

The competition was to have found the most objects and taken a selfie with each one.

^ champions selfie

We managed to find and take a cheeky and attractive (not) selfie with 10 objects, taking us an average of 3 minutes per picture.

So much running and Iv never sweated so much in a PE lesson in my life! T'was fun though!

One step closer to the dream

I'm happy to share with you all my extremely exciting news...

I have been offered a place at Italia Conti Performing Arts College! (OMG still can't believe it)

Italia Conti (or 'Conti' as the students call it) is one of the most renowned and prestigious performing arts schools in the UK. It even has it's own T.V show 'School for Stars'.

The college is ideal for me, specialising in dance, drama and music - the triple threat! Ever since a young age Iv always dreamed of going to a stage school and now my dream has come true after a lot of hard work!

I can't tell you how over the moon I am...when I phoned my grandparents to tell them the news I couldn't stop crying with happiness and neither could my gran!
This isn't final yet as I still have more auditions yet to come at other colleges' but for now I'm happy to say, this year is looking bright!

15 Minute Morning Workout

Before I begin, I'm no fitnes guru or instructer, I'm just sharing my tips and experiences! I enjoy learning about other peoples healthy lifestyles and diets etc. because I find them benefitial and so thought I'd share my own.

Since after Christmas I have been very religious in getting up an extra 15 minutes early every day Mon-Fri getting in a quick daily toning workout. In a nutshell this consists of ab and butt exercises!

Iv noticed changes in the way I look aswell as feeling more awake and energised each morning.

The workout:
- Ab section

Sit ups x30

Side sit ups, 30 each side

Toe reaches x30

Leg rockers x30

Bicycle crunches x30

Plank for 60 seconds

-Butt section
Donkey tucks, 30 each side
Backwards leg extensions, 30 each side

Hip lifts x30

And then to finish, 30 standard squats.

Now to notice results, don't just assum this alone will make it happen because you are wrong unfortunately. I already lead quite an active lifestyle already with lots of cardio where I dance every day. However if you don't, I suggest thinking about ways you could change it to be more active, by joing the gym, going to Zumba classes or even just going jogging regularly?

I hope this is helpful at least a little to some and good luck!
